First awarded in 1930, the AAU annually presents the Sullivan Award to the most outstanding amateur athlete in the U.S. who demonstrates qualities of leadership, citizenship, character and sportsmanship on and off the field. I acquired autographs from many of these winners through the mail, many having autographed newspaper sports cartoons for me. But on this page I feature mostly signed 3x5 cards, some of which I obtained by purchase later (noted in caption).
